The Role: Sustainability Sales Specialist

The Team:
The Sustainability Sales team works alongside DCS sales colleagues to sell the suite of sustainability analytics solutions, physical risk tools and data, and benchmarking services. This role will join a dynamic team where every member has a passion for helping clients accelerate the movement toward a more sustainable future.

The Impact:
The Sustainability Sales Specialist role will be a member of the high growth DSC/RASS Sales organization within S&P Globals Market Intelligence division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on global, multi-stakeholder deals with a wide range of companies that lead, innovate, and disrupt their respective industries. One day you may help a global Fortune 500 Corporation start their Sustainability journey, and the next day you may help a company create a strategy around mitigating the impact of climate risks on their physical assets.
As a Sustainability Sales Specialist, you are accountable for driving revenue growth in the Financial Institutions sector. This role will sell our suite of sustainability solutions, with a primary focus on Analytics, Benchmarking Services, and our physical risk solutions, including the Climanomics platform. Working across both existing relationships and new logos, the role requires you to hunt for new business, be a team player, self-starter, and trusted advisor to deeply understand unique company challenges and the regulatory landscape. You will consult with customers about S&Ps services suite to evangelize solutions that will help them reach their business goals.

Whats in it for you:
The expectations for Sustainability Sales Specialist are high you will be leading engagements sponsored by the C-suite, focused on topics like TCFD alignment, portfolio reporting, physical risk analysis, and other projects that drive business strategy. The Sustainability Sales Specialist will partner with DCS Sales and the newly formed Sustainability Business Development Specialist team to develop target lists and coordinate on outreach to prospective customers.

Responsibilities:
Define and execute account plan for your book of business based on company size, industry and publicly disclosed strategic objectives
Discover and grow a book of business, consisting of both current accounts and new logos
Collaborate and work with different members of the account team (DCS Sales, Relationship Managers, Customer Success Managers, Sustainable1 Product/Leadership, etc.) to recommend custom solutions for customers
Be entrepreneurial -- stay current with industry news to develop marketing initiatives and create client events to attract prospects
Sell on value and return on investment vs. technical functionality

What Were Looking For:
Experience in Sustainability and/or SaaS enterprise sales with a focus on solution selling and six figure deals
Comfort and track record of success in identifying, connecting, and acquiring new business in untapped markets
Experience in managing and growing a book of business within large, multinational organizations
Strong negotiation skills to close strategic deals
Willingness to approach every problem as an entrepreneur with grit, creativity, and persistence
Proficiency in MS Office and sales enablement tools (Salesforce, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn, SalesLoft, etc.)
Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and interpersonal skills with an Executive audience
Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates):

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individuals geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
